SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Scottish Enduro Association are stoked to be able to run the first ever officially sanctioned Scottish Enduro Championships.

As with anything official, this means there is a process behind it to ensure that the champion is fully recognised by the governing body – this is common in other disciples of mountain biking/cycling - but has never been recognised in enduro, until now.

What does this mean?

Well, round 3 of the Scottish Enduro Series (SES) at Ballo on September 27th/28th will also double-up as the Scottish Enduro Championships.

This means that there will be two sets of results and podiums at Ballo:

1.      Round 3 of the SES (with points being awarded to be a SES series winner)

2.      2025 Scottish Enduro Championships

What is the difference?

Scottish Enduro Series - Round 3:

  • entries close on Monday 22nd September

  • no need to be Scottish, member of governing body, no eligibility checks etc.

  • points from this race will contribute to riders winning the overall SES series winner (to be presented at the final round at Ae on 11th/12th October)

2025 Scottish Enduro Championships:

  • entries close on Sunday 14th September 2025

  • to be eligible to race you need to have a minimum of SC/BC Membership (or any other recognised UCI federation) and full race licence and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • SC2.2.1 Persons whose primary club is affiliated to Scottish Cycling (licence showing that club or team at the time entries close),

  • SC2.2.2 Scottish Nationals (persons born in Scotland).

  • SC2.2.3 Scottish Residents (persons who have continuously lived in Scotland for the last three consecutive years prior to the day of the Championship).

  • SC2.2.4 Persons who have at least one parent who was born in Scotland.

  • SC2.2.5 Members of the armed forces who meet none of the above, but who by necessity are required to live in Scotland away from their normal residence.

Why are the closing dates different?

Staff at Scottish Cycling will contact all those who wish to race for a Scottish Enduro Championships title to check eligibility for this race.

This takes time.

So, entries to race for a Scottish National title will close earlier than for those want to have a great day out, ride some amazing trails, beat their mates (officially – strava doesn’t really count), and share the SES stoke that’s been building all year.

That doesn’t mean you should leave your SES entry until the last minute though, as organisers trying to plan a fair size event with budgets, logistics and many, many things to book in advance of the race it would be great if you could just book as soon as possible. It does really make our lives a lot easier and helps ensure a healthy and sustainable MTB events scene.

Is there different categories for Scottish Enduro Championships?
